In Div. I - Former Republic of Ireland striker Dominic Foley secured three points for Watford with a second half goal, in their 2-0 win over visitors Milwall at Vicarage Road. Foley returned from a one-game suspension, receiving his marching orders in August against Norwich for two yellow cards.
In Nationwide Div. II Oldham Athletic returned with all three points with a 3-1 win over Nott's County at Meadow Lane with Nott's County’s goal coming from a Paul Heffernan header.
In Div. III – Dubliner Gareth O’Connor secured Bournemouth their maximum points with a 3-1 win away at Exeter with a second half strike.
In other related news the Premier League “Dubious Goals Committee” have decided that Kenny Cunningham was not responsible for an own-goal, in Birmingham City’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park last month. The goal has been credited to Everton's David Unsworth.
